Entrepreneurship and women’s wellness: What would you do if you couldn’t fail?

Updated: Oct 25

At our International Women’s Day event this year, we hosted a Female Founders Panel, an inspiring conversation exploring the powerful connection between entrepreneurship and women’s wellness. A big thank you to our incredible guest speakers - Katelin and Ella, founders of Fayshell, and Laura, founder of Mode Pilates for sharing their experiences, lessons, and insights with us.

How Entrepreneurship is connected to women’s wellness

Entrepreneurship and wellness are more intertwined than most people realise, especially when it comes to financial independence and emotional wellbeing.

For many people, navigating today’s economy can feel overwhelming. Rising living costs, increasing rent, and the feeling that homeownership is out of reach add to the pressure. While entrepreneurship offers a powerful path to financial independence, it’s just one of many ways women can take control of their futures, whether that’s through turning a hobby into a side business, advancing in your career, learning new skills like AI, or investing wisely.

There’s something deeply empowering about building something for yourself and creating the life you’ve always dreamed of. As women in our 30s who’ve started from scratch in a new country by ourselves, without inherited wealth or connections, we know the challenges very well. But we also know that personal growth, courage, and work ethic are tools we can always rely on to move forward.

Every woman deserves to feel empowered to explore what’s possible for her. And if you’re holding back out of fear or self-doubt, ask yourself: What would you do if you couldn’t fail?

Let that question guide your next step.

What every aspiring entrepreneur should know

Starting a business is an exciting yet challenging journey. At our Female Founders Panel, we heard from women who’ve built their businesses from the ground up. Their advice was practical, heartfelt, and real.

Here are the key takeaways every aspiring founder should know:

  1. Self-belief is everything

If you don’t believe in yourself, how can you expect anyone else to? Confidence in your mission and your ability to execute it is non-negotiable. Doubt is inevitable, but pushing through and backing yourself is what separates successful founders from the rest. Your mindset is your most powerful asset, nurture it.

  1. Your circle matters

The people around you will either lift you up or hold you back. Surround yourself with those who support your vision, inspire you, and push you to grow. If certain relationships leave you feeling drained or discouraged, it may be time to reassess your circle. Building a network of like-minded people takes time. It might mean letting go of relationships that no longer serve you or experiencing periods of loneliness. Trust that by doing so, you’ll create space for the right people to enter your life.

  1. Solve a real problem

The most successful businesses start by addressing a genuine need. What’s something you struggled with that others might be facing too? Find a problem, solve it, and make it your mission. When you’re passionate about what you do, it will resonate with others and create a lasting impact.

  1. Consider a co-founder

Going solo isn’t the only option. Having a co-founder can bring balance, different perspectives, and shared responsibility. But before you jump into a partnership, ask yourself: Are you a team player? Do you have complementary skills? Do you trust each other? Setting clear roles, responsibilities, and boundaries early on can prevent future conflicts and ensure smooth collaboration.

  1. Embrace the hustle (but know it’s a marathon, not a sprint)

Burnout is real, and every founder will experience intense periods of work. Some seasons will be chaotic, others slower, learning to manage your energy is key. Know when to push hard and when to recharge. Long-term success requires consistency, not just intense effort in short bursts.

  1. Social media is a powerful (and free) marketing tool

Your content should be three things: entertaining, educational, and engaging. These pillars help make your brand memorable and shareable. Experiment with different types of content such as behind-the-scenes, personal stories, customer testimonials and make sure your brand stands out. Guerrilla marketing campaigns, or outside-the-box promotional strategies, can also be an exciting way to grab attention. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try new things.

Final thoughts

Every woman who’s ever built something extraordinary started where you are - with an idea, a dream, and a decision to go all in. The world is waiting for more women to rise, lead, and create from the heart. So take the risk, trust your gut, and go after it.. your story is just getting started.
