In a world that celebrates hustle, many women have forgotten how to simply be. Female Embodiment Coach Rachel Smith helps women reconnect with their intuitive feminine essence - to soften, receive, and create balance in life and love. We sat down with Rachel to talk about what it truly means to embody feminine energy and how to begin weaving it into everyday life.

We sat down with Rachel to explore what it truly means to embody feminine energy and how women can begin weaving it into their relationships and daily lives.
What does it mean to truly embody your feminine energy?
“Feminine energy is an innate connection to your unique essence and intuition,” Rachel explains. “While both men and women can access this energy, it is often referred to as yin energy characterized by receptivity, openness, sensuality, presence, and emotional connection.” In relationships, feminine energy creates polarity, playfulness, and inspiration. “It carries a radiance that naturally draws in more masculine-dominant energy types. Many women don’t realise how powerful this energy is; it brings life, self-sufficiency, and depth to emotional experiences. When fully embraced, it deepens intimacy, fosters vulnerability, inspires action in a masculine counterpart, and allows space for them to lead and take initiative.”
How can women identify when they’re leaning too heavily into masculine energy?
“A strong sign of an overactive masculine energy is feeling constantly exhausted, numb, or stuck in ‘doing mode.’ If you’re always taking action, planning, or leading but feel drained, it might be time to restore balance.”
Rachel suggests beginning with self-reflection:
How do I feel when I’m not busy?
Do I enjoy my own company?
Can I identify and understand my emotions?
What do my emotions reveal about my needs?
“By cultivating self-awareness and presence, you open yourself up to receiving rather than always doing.”
Why is balancing feminine and masculine energies in relationships important?
“Energetic imbalance can cause relationships to lose passion, shift into a friendship dynamic, or build resentment,” Rachel says. “Once the initial chemistry fades, we often revert to learned relational patterns, which may be unhealthy due to childhood conditioning. In dating, you may notice yourself leading conversations, planning dates, or guiding the relationship’s direction. If a man perceives that you have everything under control, he may not feel the need to step up. This can lead to misalignment, where he takes a passive role and you take on the masculine energy.”
She reminds us that men often express feelings through actions rather than words. “By creating space for them to show up naturally, you gain clarity on their interest and emotional availability. This practice helps prevent investing in relationships that aren’t aligned with your readiness for commitment.”
What advice do you have for women who feel they need to “do it all”?
“Many women carry a deep-seated belief that love, success, or validation must be earned through constant action,” Rachel explains.
To shift this mindset, reflect on:
Where does my belief in ‘doing it all’ originate?
Do I equate self-worth with achievements or relationship status?
How does my over-giving impact my relationships?
Did my parents model healthy attachment and balance?
“Receiving is a skill that requires practice,” Rachel says. Small ways to expand your capacity to receive include appreciating when others help you, whether it’s a friend buying you coffee or someone holding the door, cultivating self-love with flowers, affirmations, or solo dates, and allowing men to contribute in relationships by expressing what you enjoy and acknowledging their gestures.
For single women looking to attract a healthy, aligned partner, where should they begin?
“A common mistake women make is settling for relationships that don’t meet their emotional needs. To attract an aligned partner: get clear on what qualities truly matter beyond the superficial, set non-negotiables that protect your time, energy, and wellbeing, embody the qualities you desire in a partner rather than only seeking them in others, identify and break unhealthy dating patterns, and trust your intuition.. it’s one of the most powerful tools for saving time and heartache.”
What are some daily practices to embody feminine energy?
Rachel shares simple, grounding ways to connect back to your feminine essence each day:
Connect with your body through the senses such as breathwork, meditation, nature walks, essential oils, baths, self-massage, or mindful movement.
Create space in your day to slow down, check in with yourself, and enjoy solitude without distraction.
Listen to your body and ask what feels nourishing, what you need more of, and honour your inner guidance.
Build a relationship with your emotions by naming, describing, and sitting with your feelings to strengthen emotional intelligence and regulation.
“By integrating these practices, you cultivate a deeper connection to your feminine essence, allowing you to move through life with greater confidence, ease, and authenticity.”
