Moving across the world to start fresh takes courage and Alessandra Spadoni knows that feeling well. Born and raised in Milan, she followed her intuition all the way to Sydney, where she now helps women reconnect with their purpose and embrace self-love as a personal trainer and life and spiritual coach. We sat down with Alessandra to talk about change, courage, and what it really means to live authentically.

Born and raised in Milan, Alessandra spent her twenties feeling unfulfilled in her career and struggling in her romantic life. She longed for something more but wasn’t sure what that was until she decided to take a leap of faith. Despite her desire to leave Italy, fear held her back for years, particularly the challenge of a language barrier. A turning point came when she unexpectedly had to travel alone to Spain. “What could have been a daunting experience turned into a revelation, I found joy in discovering a foreign city on my own, even without knowing the language. This moment of independence gave me the confidence to finally make the move to Australia.”
After a short visit to Sydney, Alessandra fell in love with its beautiful suburbs and relaxed lifestyle. “I knew in my heart that this was home.” In 2012, she returned on a student visa, marking the beginning of a long and rewarding journey. It took a decade to become a citizen and build a life she truly loves. Through it all, she remained driven by her belief that “our WHY is stronger than our fears or obstacles.”
From personal training to life and spiritual coaching
While Alessandra continues to work as a personal trainer helping clients maintain physical and mental strength, her true calling is life and spiritual coaching. Her own journey of self-discovery inspired her to help women who feel disconnected from their true selves. Through her coaching, she guides women to embrace self-love, rediscover their purpose, and live authentically.
The power of self-love and mindfulness
For many women, self-love and prioritising well-being can feel like a challenge. Alessandra emphasises the importance of slowing down and letting go of guilt associated with self-care.
“We are often driven by our minds, rushing from one thing to another, sometimes pleasing others or forcing ourselves to do things just because we feel we have to,” she explains. “When we take time to slow down, breathe, and be present, magic happens. Even five minutes of mindful breathing can be a powerful act of self-love.”
Authenticity: The key to empowerment
True empowerment comes from authenticity, knowing who we are, embracing both our strengths and weaknesses, and standing firmly in our values without fear of judgment. Alessandra believes that when women show up as their true selves, they inspire and empower those around them.
Life’s challenges are inevitable, but she encourages a shift in perspective: “When we see struggles as opportunities for growth, we navigate them with more ease. Practicing gratitude and trusting that everything is unfolding in our favour can help us through difficult times.”
Advice for women seeking change
For women feeling stuck or uncertain about making a change, Alessandra offers simple yet profound guidance: start with gratitude. “We underestimate the power of gratitude. When we wake up and acknowledge just one to three things we’re grateful for each day, it shifts our mindset. Our minds are powerful, when we focus on struggles, we find more struggles. But when we focus on solutions, we find them.”
She also stresses the importance of self-compassion: “Be kind to yourself. Treat yourself with the same patience and encouragement you would offer a friend. Change begins when we believe we are worthy of it.” Through her work, Alessandra continues to inspire women to live with intention, embrace their uniqueness, and step into their full potential.
